The Pasadena Lions Club generates funds from several events throughout the year to support Lions International and Lions District 2-S2 projects, and selected community needs in the Pasadena area.
Pasadena and Surrounding Area
- Eye Exams and Glasses for School Kids - Pays the dues for all Pasadena ISD nurses into the Texas School Nurses Organization and the National Association of School Nurses (NASN). NASN membership entitles nurses to issue gift certificates to eligible children for free eyecare services through the VSP Sight for Students program. Since 2015, donated four Spot Vision Screeners to the school district. These portable devices help the nurses quickly and easily detect students' vision issues.
- Pasadena ISD Health and PE Programs
- Gold Sponsor, McDonalds Texas Invitational Tournament - Proceeds from this annual event are donated to the Pasadena ISD Education Foundation and the Deer Park ISD Education Foundation.
- Project Joy and Hope - An organization that inhances the quality of life of children and families who live with life-limiting conditions.
- Local Collection of Eyeglasses for Lions Recycle for Sight
Regional and Statewide
- Texas Lions Camp - Residential camping facility free for children with physical disabilities, type 1 diabetes and cancer.
- Lions District 2-S2 Projects - Includes Lions Eye Bank of Texas, Leader Dogs for the Blind, and Opportunities for Youth - Scholarships
National and International
- Lions Clubs International Foundation - Supports and develops international humanitarian programs that serve people in need, including preserving sight (SightFirst) and providing disaster relief.
