WHERE ARE WE

Lions club of Padukka Siyanepura was extended in January 9th, 2007 by Lions club of Padukka Western with 20 prominent members from Siyanepura.

    Siyanepura is situated in Gampaha district along the Kelani river. This is basically an agricultural area from the very inception. In SALALIHINI SANDHESHAYA, the poet discribed  to Salalihiniya, Siayanapura as a most beautiful area in Sri Lanka.As per the history, the Salalihiniya started its journey from Karagala Rajamaha Viharaya which is in the center of Siyanepura.

    The famous towns; Pugoda, Kirindiwela, Delgoda, Dompe, Aththanagalla and Kelaniya are in the visinity of this area.

    Though Siyanepura is situated close to Colombo most of people make their living with agriculture. Coconut & rubber are the main crops while pineapple, rambutan, etc: have become commercial crops which is lucrative.

    While majority of the population are buddhist Kelaniya, Aththanagalla and Karagala Rajamaha Viharaya are famous with the buddhist of Sri Lanka.
