Eyeglass Recycling
The Oxford Lions run an eyeglass recycling program. Please search your homes for used eyeglasses which can be recycled to assist those less fortunate. In July 2019 300 pairs were shipped from Oxford to the Lions regional recycling center. Eyeglasses can be deposited at drop boxes in the following 4 locations in Oxford, CT:
A-1 Pools & Spas, 131 Oxford Road (CT Route 67)
U.S. Postal Service side counter, 160 Main St. (Ace Hardware in Quarry Walk)
Oxford Town Hall (front lobby), 486 Oxford Rd. (CT Route 67)
Oxford Senior Center, 10 Old Church Rd. on exchange table
Scholarship Award
Two $1,000.00 scholarships were awarded to graduating seniors at Oxford High School.
Citizenship Awards
Two $50.00 awards were presented to an 8th grade girl and a boy commencing from Great Oak Middle School to promote volunteerism.
