George Winnett Scholarship
The Lions Club of Oakville has set up a scholarship fund in the name of the late George Winnett, a longtime resident of Oakville and a long time Lions Club member. This year we will be awarding up to two scholarships of $1000.00.
To be eligible a student must:
· be a resident of Oakville
· be in full-time attendance at an Oakville public or separate secondary school
· have achieved outstanding academic excellence
· have made a significant contribution of voluntary service to their community
Consideration will also be given to financial need.
Recipients of the Award will also be required to give proof of registration at a recognized post secondary institution prior to receiving the Scholarship funds.

The Scholarship Committee of the Lions Club of Oakville will review the selected applications and may elect to interview the applicants. The decision of the Club will be final. We will notify the recipients of the awards prior to commencement. The recipients and family members will be invited to dinner with the Club.
