Oak Ridge Lions Club "Tranquility Garden" is finishing up the initial phase of construction. We just finished mulching the beds today for a clean crisp look. Things will settle down for the winter and then we will do some more planting of perennials in the spring.
We anticipate adding some purple and white Cone Flowers in several parts of the beds, as well as some other ornamental plants.
The rain we are getting over the next few days is more than welcome for all the thirsty plants. I have been out there every day for the last few weeks hand watering all the plants and trees to keep them viable. We are planning a dedication ceremony soon, and then it will open to the public.
Tranquility Garden is a memorial garden to honor deceased Oak Ridge Lions Club members who have served their community for years. Since our club serves the community in several ways, a portion of the garden will be available to honor loved ones from Oak Ridge residents who have also passed. This will be an ongoing project for years to come.
