Lions Community Youth Fund FAMILY Financial Assistance

The North Shuswap Lions have expanded the mandate of their Community Youth Fund to include providing financial assistance to parents who have their child(ren) involved in arts, athletic or cultural activities.  Parents may also apply for financial assistance to help pay transportation costs for a child attending the services of a tutor to help with schoolwork.    

Arts, Athletic or Cultural Activities

At this time, the financial assistance will be a Gas Card to help pay transportation costs for parents who take their child(ren) outside of the North Shuswap on a regular basis so that he or she can be involved in an artistic, athletic or cultural activity.  Each application will be reviewed on its own merit based upon the following:

         (a)the activity occurs outside of the North Shuswap 

              (i.e. Chase, Kamloops, Salmon Arm)

         (b)needs to be an organized activity that occurs on a regular basis

         (c)what date or month does this activity start and end

Tutor

At this time, the financial assistance will be an Esso Gas Card to help pay transportation costs for parents who take their child(ren) either within or outside of the North Shuswap on a regular basis to attend the services of a tutor to help with schoolwork.  Each application will be reviewed on its own merit based upon the following:

      (a) the tutoring session may occur either inside or outside of the North  Shuswap

      (b)needs to be an organized session that occurs on a regular basis

      (c) what date or month does this activity start and end

The Parent/Guardian/Care-Giver who signed the application will be notified about the status of their application within ten days of it being received.  If the application is approved, information on the amount of the Gas Card will be provided at that time and the Gas Card mailed to you.
