Mobility Matters: Making a Difference to local families”

The North Beach Lions Club recently rallied behind a remarkable young teenager with cerebral palsy who relies on a wheelchair for mobility. Transport to school and community activities became a daily challenge and family outings, just about impossible. Taking on this project was huge for our club, with a target of raising $48000, but we were determined to make a difference, launching a fundraising campaign and applying for grants to help provide a vehicle that could be modified to take a wheelchair.

With additional support from other local Lions clubs and organisations such as Variety Club and Aussie Kids, we achieved our goal! It’s a shining example of ‘you don’t know what you can do until you try’! We are very proud to have made such a big difference! This beautiful teenager can now attend school, enjoy outings with her family, and stay connected to the community she loves.One project, one family, one act of kindness at a time.
