Meetings

We often work In conjunction with the Norcross Latino Lions Club

We collect used eyeglasses including nonprescription sunglasses, hearing aids, and cell phones.  The glasses are sorted and given to the GA Lions Lighthouse Recycling Center where the glasses are cleaned.  Their prescriptions are read by one of our members or another volunteer.  Then the glasses are put in a plastic bag with a prescription label.  The glasses are filed by prescription and male/female frames so orders from humanitarian missions to Third World countries can be filled.  Donated sunglasses must NOT be prescription sunglasses.

We sponsor the Lions Peace Poster contest for 11-13 year olds  These are always due just before November 15.  If you know a student artist of this age group, please contact us for the information.

Some members make wooden puzzles.  These will be to be given to hospitals for children who need hand-eye coordination exercise.

We help provide food and funds to the Neighborhood Cooperative Ministry.

School and Community Health Fair vision screenings are done by our club.

We help those who need an eye exam and glasses or eye surgery.

We have donated caregiver packets for adults whose children are cancer patients.   We also put together PJ (pajama) Packs for children who are cancer patients.

One of our members works at the GA Lions Lighthouse Memorial Garden in Chamblee keeping it weeded and watered.  Contact us, if you are interested in helping with this project.

The Norcross Lions Club participates in community projects often with other community organizations.  Through a grant from Lions Clubs International Foundation the Norcross Lions Club provided bread, meat and cheese to be made into sandwiches by the Elevance Health employees to given to the homeless through the Sandwich Project.  A loaf of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches were also made. The grant was sufficient for us to also purchase fresh fruit and granola bars to also be given to the homeless.

Our club has fun and fellowship working on fundraisers and projects. As a Lion, you will be an integral part of a great organization, acquire new friends, and obtain personal satisfaction.

If you are interested in becoming a part of our great organization, please attend one of our meetings and check us out.  See the Contact Us page.
