Newmarket Lions Club were proud to give £1000 to LCIF

Lions Clubs International Foundation has surpassed US$1 million for disaster relief efforts in the Philippines following Typhoon Haiyan (locally known as Typhoon Yolanda).

There are 12,600 Lions members in the Philippines in 380 Lions Clubs throughout the country, including four in the capital city of Cebu of the hardest-hit province and one in the hardest-hit town of Tacloban City.

Below are some images shared by the Lions in District 301-B1, showing their relief efforts in several communities with the assistance of LCIF grants. The Lions asked which communities had not been reached yet and why, and there were four that had not received supplies because they were too remote. So, the Lions went to those communities and provided the needed assistance.

It is through donations to LCIF’s disaster relief fund that Lions can provide disaster relief in a big way.
