HISTORY:
Our club was formed in June, 2014 in a meeting with prospective members at the Jefferson Lions Home, attended by the Past International Director, Bobby Eichhorn, Jefferson Lions Club President/Past District Governor Jack Wallace and his wife Past District Governor, Peggy Wallace, District Governor Maranda Trahan, Past District Governors, Anthony Fregosi, and Cherie Foret. Jefferson Lions Club became the Sponsoring Club.
After the first meeting followed by another meeting in July, 2014 an election of officers was held. We were assigned as our Guiding Lions, Past District Governors, Anthony Fregosi, and Cherie Foret.
The following officers were elected for 2014-2015:

Cindy Dacula and Michael (Mike) Hatchett, Two-Years Directors;
Don Adams and Sara Daigle, One-Year Directors.
Our Charter was approved and became an Affiliate of the Lions Club International on July 25, 2014.
We celebrated our Charter Night on October 19, 2014 at the Jefferson Lions Home in Jefferson, Louisiana. The installation of Officers and induction of members were held during the Charter Night celebration.
Our membership totaled to 52 Chartered members by the time of charter night.
Our Charter Night celebration was graced by the presence of Honorable John Young, President of Jefferson Parish, and famous TV-Anchor Reporter, Sally Ann Roberts, and our fellow lion members in the 8-S district.
By January 31, 2015, membership should totaled 63 members. In August, 2017 we have 78 members.

December 21, 2014 – Family Christmas Party with the Special Handicapped Bowlers at Jefferson Lions Home
December 2014-March 2015 – Book Drive Project headed by Lion Ken Landriant
March 28, 2015 - Family Fair at Exceleration Youth Center in Belle Chasse, LA
May 23, 2015 - An Evening of Asia - Featuring Little Asian American Lion Prince and Princess Contest at Cypress Garden in Marrero, LA
May 20, 2017 - An Evening of Asia - Featuring the Asian American Lion Princess Contest in La Maison Creole reception hall in Harvey, LA.
August 19, 2017 - Lions Awareness Day - Lakeside Shopping Center - Eye screenings, health and safety information, diabetes and hearing information.
