Lions International and the Neenah Lions sponsor the following activities:

o      205 Nations assists Blindness and raised $200 million over 15 years. $5 million for cataract operations so people can see, Lion's built 300 clinics and trained over 3,000 doctors to perform cataract surgery. Equated to $6 per operation.  

o      River Blindness in South America had no cure. Lion's developed a cure which equal to only 10 cents per person so they will never go blind again. A dose of Vitamin A. 195,000 people will not go blind annually due to our cure.

o      Lion's Eye Bank of Wisconsin ran 100% by Lion's and receives no tax funding. 1,100 people in Wisconsin received their vision back. 100% was transported by Lion's.

o      Wisconsin Lion's Camp in Rosholt is a great success. Kids want to be kids with people like them. Makes them Happy and gives parents a break. Blind week is two sessions. Cognizant disorder, diabetics, and hearing each have a one week session. Over 1,500 children will attend camp each summer and all free to the families and children. It costs $600 per child to attend.  

o      Lion's have established 9 Leader Dog Training Facilities in the US and 40 around the world. Dogs read and cross streets – the only one in the world. 265 dogs are trained yearly and given Free to those in need. Plus, with each dog, we provide free $800 GPS with 9 programmed buttons always providing the closest address.  It takes 18 to 20 months to train each dog. They undergo miles of walking. The person who receives the dog is trained in our facilities for 45 days.

o      Plus Neenah Lion's  donate and pay for eye exams and glasses, hearing aids, ramps, high school scholarships, emergency shelter, Boy Scouts of America, A Fish Tale and More, Brigade Christmas Giving, Camp Counselors, and direct sponsor kids to attend camp, dictionaries to all third Graders, and more.

 

Neenah Lions get funding through Rose Sales and Deliveries, Streetball, Communityfest,  Oktoberfest, and other miscellaneous fundraisers.

 

People can help Lions in several ways to include: joining the Lions, contributing to the Lions, donating old eye glasses and hearing aids, donating eyes, donating unused handicapped equipment like wheelchairs, walkers, bathroom assists, beds, lifters, etc.
