- Diabetes.
- BC Lions Society For Children With Disabilities.
- Lions Easter Seal House - accommodation for families while their children are in the Children's Hospital.
- Camp Shawnigan Lions Easter Seal Camp (when operating) for children with disabilities.
- The Nanaimo Unique Kids Society's activity programs.
- The club supplies hearing-impaired people on low incomes with new hearing aids.
- The club assists sight-impaired people with learning programs, low vision and no vision. The club also donates funds to the Lions Foundation of Canada to assist with the acquisition of a dog guide.
- For the past 31 years, the club has assisted families with Christmas food hampers.
- The club supports Loaves & Fishes, Seven to Ten and a number of food banks in the Nanaimo area.
- Over the past 31 years, the club has sponsored a Christmas outing for 15 seniors including 1 or 2 helpers from each of 3 lodges for a total of 45 people. With 2 Lion members assisting we fill a 47 passenger bus.
- The Hub City Lions have assisted with or supplied medical equipment such as electric scooters, wheelchairs, bed to bathroom pulleys and equipment repair to those in need.
- The Hub City Lions also responds to a number of emergency calls throughout the year.
