Lions Club of International (LCI) had officially born on 7th June,1917. The beacon behind the transformation of a luncheon group of Businessmen in Chicago to a network of individuals dedicated to work towards betterment of the communities, is Mr. Melvin Jones.
The quest started with a simple question ""What if these men," Melvin Jones asked, "who are successful because of their drive, intelligence and ambition, were to put their talents to work improving their communities?" . The young businessman had a vision in his mind, mission at heart and zeal to serve at its core to give LCI a shape under his dynamic leadership which eventually became the largest service organization of the world with its operation in 206 countries and over 46,000 clubs devoted to the service to the mankind.
