Lions Club Nadiad (club No. 026231) of District 323F1 is considered to be one of the most senior, oldest, largest & vibrant club not only of our District 323F1 but of the Multiple and the Lionistic World. This has not been achieved overnight. It took years to reach at this glorious status with dedicated contribution of our committed members and our visionary leaders.
Lions Club of Nadiad, has proud history of 52 years. Lions Club of Nadiad is established on 1st of August, 1961 under Governorship of Lion Sohrab K. Khan of District 304W, which was composed of state of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Mahrashtra & Madhya Pradesh. Our club was sponsored by Lions Club of Bombay (North) Started with 21 Charter Members. This club was inaugurated by then Zone Chairman Lion Dr. Bihari Kanaiyalal and chartered on 28th October, 1961 by the hands of Dist Governor Lion Sohrab K. Khan and Chief Guest was then Union Finance Minister Dr. H. M. Patel. Well known business man Lion Ranchhodbhai K. Patel become Club’s Charter President and well known lawer Lion Chandubhai J. Desai become Charter Secretary. The seed sown by them and the fellow Lions, has now grown at the peak of unmatched dignity. Year after year the Club has got visionary leaders and committed members. It is the Club which is recording its growth every year. And during this journey our club has passed from Dist, 304W, 323B, 323F to 323F1 at present.
We are also fortunate enough to have given vibrant Lion Leaders, like Lion Chandubhai Desai (1977-78), Lion Dr. H. M. Desai (1984-85) and Lion Hamukh Patel (2000-01) as District Governor of our District 323F.
During the Golden Jubilee year of Lions Clubs International With the contribution of Lion members & cooperation of Nadiad Municipality, We built Lions Hall & Lion Ranchhoddas K. Patel Open Air Theatre as our Golden Anniversary Permanent projects. Lions Open Air Theatre we handed over to Municipality for Public use. In 2002-03 we build Lion K.H.Shah community hall on the first floor of Our Lions Hall. In 2011-12 we renovated our Lions Hall and changed to Air Conditioned.
Our club running many permanent Project/Activities such as Cycle Bank, Oxygen Cylinder Bank, Eye Bank, X Ray/Sonography Bank, Diabetes Centre, E.C.G bank, Eye Camp, Cataract & Cornea Graphy operation, Eye ball Donation, Activities for Deaf & Dumb, Activitvies for Physically handicapped & Disable, health camps & Educational activities like Lions Quest, Peace Poster, Felicitation of Teachers and Bright Students and Water Hut at Nadiad Railway Platform, Lions Club of Nadiad is a part of an international association, filled with people who are joined by the common desire to make their communities better, by using their creativity, enthusiasm and energy.
Club bimonthly publicized “KEDI” Bulletin provides information on topics of interest from various levels throughout the Lions Community.
The Lions Club of Nadiad was chartered way back in 1961 , and has been committed to serving our community ever since.
This is a service club, made up of people who enjoy each other’s company and share the common goal of assisting others less fortunate. The Lions Club of Nadiad meets formally twice a month: Every First & Third Friday of the month at 8.00 p.m. at Lions Hall, Lions Open Air Theatre, Santram Road, Nadiad. 387 001 Lions Clubs are part of community life, in the cities and in the country. Clubs are easily identified by their distinctive Logo, the trademark of our International Association, and the 'We Serve'; motto.
