2022-2023 Scholarship Application

Applicant Eligibility Requirements:
● High School Senior
● Attend Mount Pleasant High School, Chapel Hill High School, or Homeschool
● Reside in Mount Pleasant High School or Chapel Hill High School attendance zones

Application Deadline:
● 8:30 am Friday, April 7, 2023
● Turn application in to the High School Counselor’s Office at MPSD or CHISD.
● Homeschool students turn their application in to the Counselor’s Office in your public school
attendance zone, MPISD or CHISD.

Awards:
● $1,000 MPISD Senior AND CHISD Senior (or Homeschool student living in MPISD district)
● $500 MPISD Senior AND CHISD Senior (or Homeschool student living in CHISD district)

Your Lions Club Scholarship Application should include the following:
1. ESSAY - A 500 word essay that addresses the following points:
● Explain why you would be the best candidate to receive the Lions Club
Scholarship.
● Explain your post-secondary career goals and what you hope to achieve through your
college education or technical training.
● Include the name of the college or technical school that you plan to attend and
indicate if you have been accepted to that institution

2. RESUME - Include a resume (9th-12th grade) that includes the following information:
● Personal Information (Full Name, School, Address, Phone Number, Email)
● Academic History (Grade Point Average, Special Classes, Endorsements, Programs of
Study, Certifications, etc.)
● Activities or Organizations
● Honors or Awards
● Leadership Positions
● Community Service or Volunteer Activities
● Jobs or Work History (if applicable)

3. TRANSCRIPT(S) - Attach an official high school transcript and college transcript (if applicable) to your application.

Recipients will be notified in May of 2023 and will be recognized at the May Lions Club meeting at
the Mt. Pleasant Country Club.

Scholarship checks will be made payable to the student and college/technical school. Checks must
be taken to the school Financial Aid/Business Office in order to be applied to the student’s account.

*Scholarship recipients must redeem the Lions Club Scholarship funds within 14 months of the award date. Unclaimed scholarship funds will return to the Mount Pleasant Lions Club.
