WELCOME to the Mt. Olivet Lions’ Veterans’ Monument.
As a Charter Member of this great club, I have been fortunate to be a part of the services provided to our community from its beginning, and have been able to take part in numerous projects completed by this group of dedicated men and women. Though the need has changed over the years, it is true to say that: “Where there is a need, there is a Lion”.
As Lions, our goal is to make a difference. Service to people who are blind and who are visually impaired has always been one of our most significant projects. Also, more than ever, people with vision problems, our senior community, our youth and the disadvantaged around the world need our help. Our commitment to serve holds strong,
Our “Flags for Heroes” project has not only served as a means to honor our heroes, but it has enhanced the true patriotism of this hilltop community. It is through the support of sponsorships of the flags, and the gracious donation from individuals for the monument, we are doubly blessed as we leave a lasting legacy for generations to come.
On behalf of the Mt. Olivet Lions, we THANK YOU for your support and for sharing in this worthy project.. We look forward to many years to come!

A Dream Becomes Reality!
Three short years ago, a Lion who was attending a monthly meeting of the club, proposed that funds generated from the "Flags for Heroes" project be earmarked for a Veterans Memorial, and that the memorial be constructed in the Mt Olivet Community Park.
The members voted unanimously to proceed with this project as a special gift to the community.
Announcement was made to the hilltop residents, and the response received for sponsorships for the flags was overwhelming. The first year, 60 flags were sponsored, followed by 120 and 160 respectfully for the next two years. Additionally, individual donations were received which further confirmed the monument would be a welcome addition to the hilltop community.
A dream become reality! This monument is a continuing tribute to all veterans who, in times of war and peace, honorably served this great country, preserved our unalienable rights and the blessing of liberty to ourselves and our posterity.
THANK YOU for helping the Mt. Olivet Lions Club leave a legacy to be enjoyed for generations to come.
COMING SOON! Plans are being made to construct a handicap access walkway and parking area near the monument. Photos will be posted when this becomes available.
