Supporting Local Kids Through Backpacks of Hope

At the Mount Vernon Lions Club, one of our core missions is ensuring that children in our community don’t go hungry—especially on weekends when school meals aren’t available. That’s why we proudly support Backpacks of Hope, a program run by Lifepoint Church that provides weekend meals to students in need across Knox County.

Through fundraisers at First Fridays, Corn Hole Tournemtns, eyeglass recycling efforts, and community donations, the Lions Club raises money to directly support programs like Backpacks of Hope. These funds help purchase nutritious food and supplies to fill hundreds of backpacks every school year.
