Our dues cover the cost of our meals and dues to the state and international headquarters as well as local administrative costs. these dues are $73 each quarter. We do not use any funds raised for service projects to cover local expenses.
In the past
Financial gifts have supported the local fire departments and rescue squads, to help grant music awards for high school seniors with the Bland Music competition. We donate to as many as 35 local charitable organizations including the Central Virginia Area Aging Agency, the Moneta library, purchase of equipment for the sight impaired, providing eye exams and glasses purchase. We also are helping to build Moneta Park and help to sponsor children for Camp Too Sweet.
The Lions 24-e district and the Va Lions have donated up to $50,000 for relief for the Pulaski region after a devastating tornado.
Over $5000 has gone to Medical relief in haiti and Africa through Lions International.
