The Louisiana Lions Camp is a non-profit residential summer camp, owned and operated by the Louisiana Lions League for Crippled Children, Inc. The League is funded by the Lions Clubs of Louisiana, Multiple District 8 (MD-8). |
The Louisiana Lions Camp is free for boys and girls of Louisiana with Mental and Physical Challenges, Diabetes, and Pulmonary Disorders. |
The Camp is located in West Central Louisiana on 170 acres, 6 miles North of Leesville on U.S. Hwy 171. |
Lions Clubs across the state sponsor youngsters in their local areas to attend one of seven week-long sessions during the months of June and July at no cost. |
The Louisiana Lions Camp is an American Camp Association Accredited Camp. |

CAMP DATES

PULMONARY DISORDERS
(Cystic Fibrosis, severe and chronic asthma, tracheostomy and ventilator-assisted patients)
The pulmonary camping session, known as Camp Pelican, is a joint venture between the Louisiana Lions Camp and the Louisiana Pulmonary Disease Camp, Inc (LPDCI) in which:
- The Louisiana Lions provide their facility, food service, and a one-week sponsorship
- LPDCI provides a full medical staff which includes Medical Doctors, Registered Nurses, Respiratory Therapists, medical and nursing students
- LPDCI handles all applications and camper placements

DIABETIC
(Type One, insulin dependent and Type Two, non-insulin dependent)
(There are two camping sessions. Please check the campers’ age.)
The diabetic camping session, known as Camp Victory, is a joint venture between the Louisiana Lions Camp and the American Diabetes Association (ADA) in which:
- The Louisiana Lions provide their facility, food service, and 2 one-week sponsorships
- The ADA provides a full medical staff which includes Medical Doctors, Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Registered Dietitians, student dietitians, and medical and nursing students
- The ADA provides insulin, blood-testing meters, and supplies
- The ADA provides the campers one hour of diabetes education daily, administered by doctors, nurses, or dietitians.
