2025 Nebraska Lions Foundation Peach & Pear Sales & Pickup

2025 Colorado Peach and Pear sales orders have been completed for the 2025 crop.  Delivery is scheduled for Friday, August 15.  This year's pick up location is the Rejoice Lutheran Church parking lot, 2556 S 138th Street, Omaha.  Pick up for the Millard Lions Club begins at 3:00pm.

Provide Eye Exams and Glasses to Millard Public School students who are in need of financial assistance to get examines and purchase glasses.  The Millard Lions Club works in cooperation with Millard Family Eye Care and the school nurses throughout the Millard school district.

KidSight Nebraska

       Millard Lions Club / KidSight Service Project, the Nebraska Lions Foundation has purchased 20 Spot Vision Screeners by Welch-Allyn.  The Millard Lions Club will have up to two to three of these screening systems to use very soon.  Look for announcements in the Millard schools and check this site.  We will be screening children of all ages, especially children under the age of 7, but will vision screen all.  Information very soon.

Fall/Winter:

Volunteer Bell Ringers for the Salvation Army Tree of Lights Campaign, usually first Saturday in December

 White Cane Days held each October, to raise funds for sight and hearing needs in the Millard and southwest Omaha community.

Spring:

       Millard Lions Scholarship Awards Banquet and Presentation.  The Millard Lions Club presents eight scholarships to graduating seniors of the Millard Public Schools.  Scholarship categories are Vocational/Technical, Sight/Hearing Impaired, Leo Club, and Community Service.  Funds raised from the Bartels-Nelson Memorial Golf Classic support the scholarships.  Since 1965 over $130,000 has been given in scholarships, with the program growing and maturing from one scholarship to eight.       

       White Cane Days held each Fall and in May, on Mother's Day Weekend, to raise funds for sight and hearing needs in the Millard and southwest Omaha community.

        Opening Eyes Clinic at Nebraska Special Olympics Games at Creighton University, usually the third or fourth Friday of May.  Volunteer Lions guide athletes through screening stations, eventually leading to an eye exam and from many new glasses.
