The Mid-Cities Family Lions Club "Save the Shoes" project is an ongoing fundraiser, economic development support & recycling endeavor to collect new & gently worn shoes of all kinds.  This effort raises funds for community needs & Lion charities, as well as providing micro business opportunities for those in economically challenged countries, and of course shoes to those where this commodity is limited. Shoes which do not meet standard criteria are recycled into material for playgrounds, athletic centers and other applications, which also protects the environment.
