The Michigan Center Lions Club's 53rd annual Carp Carnival will take place June 17-20, two weeks later than the 2009 event but a bit closer to its traditional observance in the second half of June.
Organizers have had to move the date of the fish fair the past three years to accommodate the carnival ride company.
In addition to the carnival, the festival at Leoni Township Park will feature a parade at 11 a.m. June 19, fishing contest, chicken dinner, bingo, beer tent and music by local bands including ACT III and Soul Patch.
Revenue from the festival represents 85 percent of the club's annual budget and is used to provide eye exams, cataract surgeries, scholarships and holiday food baskets.
