On October 17 (even though our Birthday is on the 21st), Merrillville Lions Club will celebrate 80 years of service to the Merrillville community. We strive to improve service to our community, state, nation and world.

Since 1946 we have been part of the Merrillville community.  The Lions are men and women who volunteer their time to conduct service projects for humanitarian causes in their local and world communities.  Through their service and fund raising projects the Lions strive to help those in need wherever the need exists.    

2025, our 79th Year of existence in Merrillville. Year in Review. 

2025 a year in review! In October our club turned 79 years young. We are proud to continue the tradition of serving in Merrillville and look forward to stregthening our club throughout the year. We strive to improve our community in a variety of ways. Below are just a few of the ways we served our community.

Ways Merrillville Lions Club were involved in 2025...

• Collecting eyeglass donations from many locations throughout Merrillville (collecting well over 500 eyeglasses over the course of the year)
• Participated and helped facilitate Merrillville's 4th of July Parade!
• Participated in Trunk or Treat Events!
• Had members go and participate at District Convention and State Convention
• Had members volunteer at the Indiana State Fair
• Helping residents with various ailments in Merrillville and beyond
• Participating in other community events
• Had members serve on Lions State level committees such as Cancer Control and Speech and Hearing
