Melrose Lions Club Members at Mt Hood Country Club
Melrose Lions Club was chartered October 26th, 1925
Melrose Lions Club assists in raising money for the needy families in the community. We do this by hosting several annual events.
White cane day is held every March. We go out into the community and collect money through donations from the residents and businesses throughout Melrose.
Lions club breakfast is held in April at the Melrose Elks Hall. We as members prepare a meal to raise funds for the Lions Club to be used throughout the community. We have several raffles, with varying prizes donated by the local businesses of Melrose.
We participate in the Melrose Victorian Fair held in the fall. We have an eye-mobile trailer present at the fair that is there to evaluate anyone who would like to participate. The evaluations are done by a local eye doctor. This is sponsored by the District Lions Club.
Melrose Lions Club members work the local football and basketball games. We work the canteen in our new facilites that the city thankfully provided for us. The money raised from the sales of food goes to help both the football and basketball team.
Home for the Holidays is celebrated every December by sponsoring a meal for the citizen of Melrose. This is prior to the arrival of Santa and it kicks of the holiday season.
Kicking off the basketball season Friday night December 14th 2012 at 7pm. Come join us for a fun night.
