Who are the Marion Lions?

The Marion Lions Club is a group of service-minded men and women who work to help those in need in the community.

When did the Marion Lions Club form?

The Marion Lions Club was chartered on April 12, 1962. They were sponsored by the Bonduel Lions Club. The club chartered with 25 members. They sponsored the Marion Lioness club as well as two new Lions clubs in Big Falls and Caroline.

What projects are the Marion Lions involved in?

The Marion Lions Club is busy working to serve the local community and beyond. Club members have built wheel chair ramps for local individuals, stained the Marion Area Historical Society building, and built picnic table for city parks. They have sponsored Badger Boys State boys, donated to the local scouting program, and helped support the Marion summer baseball program. The club has also donated to various Lions charities such as the Wisconsin Lions Camp in Rosholt, the Wisconsin Lions Eye Bank, the Mission to Mexico, and the Youth Exchange program.

What fundraisers do the Marion Lions do?

The main fundraiser of the Marion Lions Club is the Fish Derby held the last Saturday in February. All members are involved in selling pre-event raffle tickets as well as working the day of the derby. Recently the club held a dinner show complete with an oldies musical revue by Daddy D Productions. It was such a success that another show is in the planning stage.
