 EYE FOUNDATION AND

MARINA LIONS

PARTNERS IN SIGHT!

Reprinted from an email from Lion Joyce Gambrell:

Hello fellow Lions,  we have been contacted by the Eye Foundation in San Francisco to sponsor a Marina patient that needs to have surgery.  She has already been approved by them, on a urgent need.

What she needed was transportation to S. F.  I had a personal commitment for the day of her appointment.  I called Lion Garth, who stated that he would surely have done it, except that he was headed the next day for his vacation.  Called Lion Andrea, who willingly excepted the call to take this person to S. F.  To say that I am proud to be a member of this group of people would be an understatement.

This is why I joined the Lions.  To be instrumental in helping somebody to regain their vision is awesome.  So far this Lions year, we have sent 19 people to Lens Crafter, with 3 more going next week.

The club expenses to sponsor this person, will be at least $60.00 each time they need to go to S. F. which will be at least 4 times.  This is a small price to pay for someone's eyesight.

I went and talked with the patient and her daughter, just a little while ago, and the daughter is comfortable in taking her mother up by herself, with the maps and direction that I gave her.  But Andrea is still going to stay committed in case some changes are made.

All I can say is thank you to all of you for working hard at the fund raisers that make this possible.

 Lion Joyce
