Meetings

 

Our May Dinner Meeting is our Annual Charter Night Meeting featuring the District Governor and swearing in of our officers for the new Lions year that starts July 1. It will be held on Tuesday,  May 5  at Golden Corral in Maplewood (300 White Bear Ave. Unit 4). Our May business meeting is 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19  in the Maple Ridge Community Room at 1695 County Road D East, Maplewood. It will feature a speaker on the Special Olympics USA Games being held in Minnesota.  

Our next Today's Harvest volunteer opportunity will be Saturday, May 9.  Contact Lion Roger Green at (651) 357-8080 if you'd care to join us in this fun and rewarding service project. 

Our next Joy Park Neighborhood Preserve monitoring will take place  on Saturday, June 13. Join us at 10 a.m. for a pleasant nature walk and the rewards of assuring this public treasure is clean and safe.

Maplewood North Lions helped stuff packets on April 17 for distribution by City Council members at the April 25 city recycling event. 

The Maplewood North Lions were on hand at the April 17 Maplewood Volunteer Expo at the Maplewod Community Center. We had the chance to tell the story of Lions in our community to prospective volunteers. 

Lions Club members were  on hand to assist the Maplewood Spring Clean UP on April 24 at Aldrirch Arena. We staffed the clothing donation station and filled a van with clothing. 

Maplewood North Lions are a sponsor of the May 15 Relay for Life at Tartan High School. Join us for this important fundraiser in the fight against cancer. 

Our Lions will be on hand at the May 30 Tour de Cure Diabetes Bike Ride staffing a water station.

We collect used eyeglasses! They are truly the "gift of sight" to people in third world countries. In fact, we collected 4,375 pairs last year! If you've got old eyeglasses to contribute, drop them in a collection box at your local optical shop or call any Lion!
