Meetings

On May 6 we will be celebrating our Annual Charter Night - an anniversary recognition of our founding as a Club, a visit by our District Governor and swearing in of our new officers. It takes place on Tuesday, May 6 at Golden Corral Buffet and Grill, 3000 White Bear Ave. #4, Maplewood, beginning at 6 p.m. Contact President Lion Jason Demoe 651-331-8076 if you'd like to join us.

Our Business Meeting is 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20 in the Community Room at 1695 County Road D East, Maplewood.

The annual Lions Plant Sale will take place the weekend after Mother's Day, May 16 - 18. Come check out our AWESOME Plant Sale from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday at the Boden Senior Living parking lot, 1700 Beam Avenue (located near Maplewood Mall). All proceeds go back into helping the local community.

Thanks to all who participated in the Lions Community Service Day on April 5 at the NALC Hall. The turnout was great as we joined with community members to make snack baggies for the unhoused, eco-friendly seed pots, fleece blankets for Children's Masonic Hospital, placemats for Meals on Wheels, and hypoglycemia kits.

Our next Joy Park Neighborhood Preserve monitoring will take place  on Saturday, June 14. Join us for a pleasant nature walk and the rewards of assuring this public treasure is clean and safe. We gather at 10 a.m. in the Joy Park parking lot across the street from the Preserve.

Our Club will be volunteering at Tour De Cure, an event raising money for diabetes, on May 31.

We collect used eyeglasses! They are truly the "gift of sight" to people in third world countries. In fact, we collected 4,375 pairs last year! If you've got old eyeglasses to contribute, drop them in a collection box at your local optical shop or call any Lion!
