The Maplewood North Lions Club dinner meetings are on the first Tuesday of each month. Our December meeting was our annual Holiday Party. It was a fun, festive gathering. Thanks to Lions Robert and Dee for organizing and hosting this event.
Our January Dinner Meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 6 at Sgt. Pepper's in Oakdale (930 Helena Avenue N). If you're interested in attending as a guest at our dinner meeting, reach out to Lion Jason Demoe at (651) 331-8076.
Our December business meeting is 7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16 in the Maple Ridge Community Room at 1695 County Road D East, Maplewood.
We fortunately had relatively mild weather while ringing the bells for the Salvation Army on Saturday, November 15 at the Cub Foods Maplewood East. Thanks to all members who joined in this all-day activity.
Our next Joy Park Neighborhood Preserve monitoring will take place on Saturday, December 13. Join us for a pleasant nature walk and the rewards of assuring this public treasure is clean and safe. To accomodate members who will be helping distribute wreaths at Ft. Snelling Cemetery, we will gather early that day, 9 a.m., in the Joy Park parking lot across the street from the Preserve.
Our next Today's Harvest volunteer opportunity will be Saturday, January 17. This is one week later than normal to accommodate the Mid-Winter Convention on January 10.
The Lions District 5M6 Mid-Winter Convention takes place Friday and Saturday, January 9 and 10 at the Doubletree by Hilton Saint Paul East. Maplewood North Lions representatives will be on hand.
Check out the Lions District 5M6 website to view other Lions events in the District at www.lions5m-6.org.
We collect used eyeglasses! They are truly the "gift of sight" to people in third world countries. In fact, we collected 4,375 pairs last year! If you've got old eyeglasses to contribute, drop them in a collection box at your local optical shop or call any Lion!
