The Maplewood North Lions take the summer off from dinner meetings. The only meetings during June, July and August will be our Business Meetings. The August meeting is 7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 19 in the Community Room at 1695 County Road D East, Maplewood.
We have speakers lined up for the September 2 Dinner Meeting (Lion Joan Wurdeman) and October 7 Dinner Meeting (Patriotic Kenny). If you're interested in attending our dinner meeting, reach out to Lion Jason Demoe at (651) 331-8076.
Maplewood North Lions are volunteering at several City of Maplewood community events this summer and fall: Celebrate Summer at Edgerton Park on August 13; Light It Up Maplewood at Hazelwood Park on September 19.
Thanks to Lion Chris for hosting our Annual Lions Club Picnic at her home on August 2. A great time was had by all!
Club members will be involved at the Minnesota State Fair in two ways: selling tickets a the Kidway; staffing the Minnesota Lions Diabetes, Hearing and Vision Foundation informaiton booth.
Our next Joy Park Neighborhood Preserve monitoring will take place on Saturday, August 9. Join us for a pleasant nature walk and the rewards of assuring this public treasure is clean and safe. We gather at 10 a.m. in the Joy Park parking lot across the street from the Preserve.
We will continue our efforts to address food insecurity by working a shift at Today's Harvest on Saturday, September 13. Additional volunteers are always welcome. If you're interested in joining us, reach out to Lion Roger Green at (651) 357-8080.

We collect used eyeglasses! They are truly the "gift of sight" to people in third world countries. In fact, we collected 4,375 pairs last year! If you've got old eyeglasses to contribute, drop them in a collection box at your local optical shop or call any Lion!
