LIONS PROJECTS AND ACTIVITIES

LOCAL ACTIVITIES

Jazz in the Jarrah. Raises money for Royal Flying Doctor Service. 

Shearing Weekend. Pet sheep and small flocks shorn and drenched.

Lions Train. We drive this at community events giving rides to kids.

Firewood gathering and Raffle. 8 raffles a year of a trailer load of wood raises funds returned to the community in other projects. 

Container Deposit Scheme. We collect and sort containers. If you have some you would like us to collect get in touch with the club. 

Lions Christmas Cakes. Sold through Tyre Power, Mitre 10, Manji Meats and Manjimup Florist. We thank them for their assistance.

Lions Mints. You'll find these in many outlets around town. 

Lions Peace Poster and Essay Competition. Primary school children are given a theme around world peace and asked to draw a poster depicting that theme. For children who are visually impaired an essay on the same theme can be entered.

Sausage Sizzles. Some of our members are mean cooks. If you would like us to do a sizzle at your event contact us.

STATE, NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL ACTIVITIES

Australian Lions Hearing Dogs delivered to their owner free of charge, alert to many common sounds, now training diabetic alert dogs too.

Lions Cancer Institute. Donations from clubs fund research into causes and treatment of many cancers and fund the bus giving free skin checks in communities state wide. 

Lions Childhood Cancer Research Foundation. Funding research and treatment of childhood specific cancers.

Lions Save Sight Foundation. Funds research and treatment of eye diseases through Lions Eye Institute in Perth, Midland and Broom and supports Outback Vision providing eye care to communities from Kunnnanurra to Esperance. Sight First, we collect the used Spectacles you deposit at our local library and distribute them to third world recipients.

Lions Hearing Foundation. Funds the audiology bus offering free hearing tests to communities state wide.

Australian Lions Foundation. Tax deductable donations from the public and donations from clubs fund relief to communities in times of disaster.

Lions Clubs International Foundation. Donations from Clubs provide relief to communities immediately after a disaster and assist for months after with clean up and rebuilding projects.
