 Warm New Year’s Greetings to the Lions of Mandya City   

It gives me immense pleasure to share below my achievements for the Lionistic Year 2009-10.

 

My vision of total service to the society:

 

As a President of Lions Club, Mandya City my vision has always been to provide lot of service activity. I feel that 2012 has been a very eventful fruitful and successful year. Lots of good things have happened and hope that in the ensuing years also with your kind co-operation Lions Club, Mandya City will be able to organize more social activities and contribute more effectively for the betterment of the society.

 

Lions Commitment to Vocational Training and Employment:

This year our Club has also conducted vocational trainings in Computers,  Exclusive vocation training have been imparted to women in Garment Manufacturing, and running of beauty parlors in rural and urban parts of our District.

 

Lions Commitment to Environment:

Lions club has organized several symposiums, debates and group discussions and awareness programs on environmental issues. Students from various colleges affiliated to the Mysore University recently have participated in a debate competitions held at Bharti College in K.M.Doddil Village of Maddur Taluk. A Cycle Jatha from Mandya City to Kunti Betta was organized to raise awareness on global warming and climatic changes. High school students in Mandya City participated in this Jatha.

 

Propagation of Lionistic Service and Humanism:

 

  a) Formation of New  Lions Clubs: Service and humanistic approach in the society needs to be enhanced and that can only be possible by motivating people to organize groups. Only organized groups can provide plenty of service activity. This has always been my vision.      I have been able to fulfill this vision to a certain extent by successfully motivating prominent personalities of the city in the formations of Lions Club of Maddur in Maddur town, Lions Club of Mandya Sugar-City, Lioness Club of Mandya Madura in Mandya City and Lions Club of Malavalli in Malavalli town, Leo club of Mandya City in Mandya.

 

 b) Encouraging Lionism and Community Service: The message of ‘We serve’ has been successfully spread by our club through the numerous health camps. These camps have created awareness towards health and hygiene. The club has been able to motivate prominent citizens, educationists, doctors and businessmen in the city to participate and share their views in the Lions Forum.

 

Conclusion:I would like to once again thank you and your family members for being a part of this wonderful Lions Team of Mandy City. Let us spread the Lions spirit of love, humanism, understanding, goodwill and service in the ensuing year.
