2020  SPRING  FLEA  MARKET  PREVIEW

Due to the coronavirus, we have decided to cancel the Saturday, May 9, 2020 Flea Market at Macungie Park.  We realize that this is a disappointment to many.  Our club uses the profits of this event to fund many of our charitable donations throughout the year.  Since we will not have this project, we may be forced to reduce the budgeted donations scheduled for this Lions year.  Our Fall Flea Market that was scheduled for  Saturday, August 22, 2020 was also cancelled.  We do hope you understand these cancellations but we look forward to resuming our activities in 2021.

BINGO  AT  CEDARBROOK  CANCELLED

Our scheduled day for BINGO at Cedarbrook has been canceled due to the coronavirus.  More will be forthcoming about the next time we visist Cedarbrook.

FOOD  BANK  DONATIONS

Our club will continue to collect food items for the Zionsville Area Food Pantry .  Lion Everett Johnson will be helping us with this effort and taking our donated items to the church.  With the help of our club, many people will have an opportunity to eat well balanced meals every day.  Our donations have been very sparse recently.   Please help us by bringing in some items that can be passed on to the many needy people who use this food bank.  Toiletries are especially in need at this time.

Thanks for your donations

STUDENT  EYE  GLASSES/EXAMS

Our club provides eye glasses and eye exams to needy students in the East Penn School District.  When a student has been identified as needing glasses, we set up an appointment with an eye doctor and provide a free exam.  Following the exam, if glasses are necessary, then basic ones are given to the student.  If you know of such a student, please contact one of the following:

Lion Meg Leister  at  610-928-0268  or

Lion President Phil Kresge  at  215-779-7375

HELPING  HAND  PROJECT:  2020

Our annual Helping Hands project is scheduled to continue this year in spite of the Covid-19  which has cancelled many activities.  This project aims to help needy families in the East Penn School District.  We use the East Penn School District elementary school counselors to assist us by providing names of these needy families.  We help approximately 50 families by providing them with food gift cards during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.  More info will be available next month.  We take great pleasure in providing this service to our community.
