The Lions Club of Lobatse has served the community in Lobatse and surrounding areas all through the years.The activities that the club undertakes relate to sight screeningin schools, providing eyeglasses, Diabetes and Blood Pressure checks and testing, providing goodies to patients during Christmas, conducting the Peace Poster contest in the Primary Schools, Donation of blankets during winter,Fund Raising walks and other activities.
Our projects in this lionistic year 2011-2012 included:
- Fund Raising 10 KM sponsored walk on 10 September
- Health Camp at Kgomokasitwa in November 2011
- Family Fun day- 3 December 2011
- Christmas Cheer at Sbrana Psychiatric Hospital on 17 December
- Monthly food donation to Botswana Association of Psychosocial Rehabilitation Orphan feeding Programme
- Health Camp at GoodhopeMarch 2012
- Health Camp at Barclay's Mall ,Lobatse April 2012
- Peace Poster Prize Giving
- Collected and handed over more than 1000 eyeglasses for recycling to "Operation Brightsight" -an eyeglass recycling center in Johannesburg, South Africa.
- Distributed 36 Solar Lamps on 4 May to Bethel Village, which is not as yet provided with electricity. These Solar Lamps came as a donation from the Lions of Europe under the Euro Africa partnership .
The club is now inthe process of raising funds to construct a destitute home.
