New Computer section for Niyandagala School

Pitipana Lions club getting ready to donate new audio / video & computer section for Niyandagala School. our 2011 / 2012 president Lion E.K. Perera's was a old boy & former president of school development society. In this moment new room construction works are under progress. We are hoping to open this section in September 2011.

Lahiru Kirana - 7th April 2011

Pitipana Lions club had sponsored Lahiru Kirana - (The Rays of the dawn) - Art & creative work competition& exhibition of Sri Parakrama Vidyalaya. Our lady lion Champa Mayadunne (art teacher of the school) was the project chairman of this project. From the club we gave the medals & certificate for the winners. 306 C 2 governor Lion Thilak Perera was the chief guest & Region 5 Regional chairman Lion Benet Gamlath, Zone chairman Lion Buddhika P. De Silva, President Lion Upul S. Ratnasiri also participated for this event.

Sahana Yathra 2 - February 19, 2011

Pitipana Lions club had launched the relief efforts program on January 26th to welikanda area. But the rain continued & again same areas got flooded. We did this project with 1 ton of dry rations, cloth, medicine, water bottles. This time our team helped more families who effected by flood. SL Army & Leo club also gave their full support to us. Lion Chandana Senanayake & Lion Buddhika P. De Silva was the project chairmans.

Donated a Printer to Army

We Pitipana Lions Club donated a printer to Army Commanding Officers office.

Sahana Yathra 1 - 26th January 2011

The disaster we had faced was second only to the tsunami. A torrential monsoon rain has affected Eastern Sri Lanka. About 30 people have lost their lives and over 1 million people, equal to that of the tsunami, have been affected by the floods.

On 26th January 2011 we Pitipana Lions club had launched the project to donate dry rations, apparels, medicine etc to Welikanda area helpless people. Sri lanka army gave us a big support while distributing the items.
Lions Chandana Senanayake & Lion Buddhika P. De Silva was the project chairmans. Pitipana Leo club also helped us for this event

Pitipana Lions Club sponsored District 306 C 2 quiz program final round.

We Pitipana Lions Club sponsored district inter school quiz program on 13th November 2010 at Lions activity center - Rajagiriya. we arranged accommodation and food for school children who came from Dehiaththakandiya school, Arranged hall facility, refreshments, presents for winners & judge board. By this event we selected 5 school teams to participate multi district round from 306 C 2 district.

Project Niyandagala School

We did Saraswathi Pooja & donated school bags, books & shoes to Niyandagala school grade 5 children on 8/9/2010. Project chairman Lion E.K. Perera. Leo club of Pitipana also supported to us.

We installed our new club asLions club of Colombo Citizens - 30 / 09 / 2010

We installed a new club as Lions club of Colombo Citizens. Ceremonial Inauguration was held on 30th September @ Sanora Reception Hall - Thalawathugoda.

English teaching and leadership Devalopment program

This program conducted with SL volunteers ( 24 teachers came from UK) & National youth services council from last June & finished it in this month. LEO club of Pitipana gave full support to us for this projects. We gave our service to ten orphanages children.

Dry rations donation project

On 24th July Governor Thilak Perera came to Godagama. Pitipana Lions club arranged welcome ceremony together with Godagam Lions club & Godagam New City Lions club. At the same time we donated around 50 dry ration parcels to poor people. Lot of cabinet members had participated for that event. After that Governor went to Rathnapura Saman Devalaya with his team for a special pooja.

Leadership Training Camp for boys & girls of

Sanhinda Children's Home

We Pitipana Lions Club implemented this project to improve their future with divisional secretariat - Homagama. Sponsored by co-operative society Ltd - Homagama.

Special help - Lucy Nightingale from UK & Mr. Ricard from Sweden. I was very happy day for them.

New computer center - Welikanda Sinhapura Junior school

We donated new computer center to Welikanda Sinhapura junior school on last 29th March 2010. This computer center will use 3 more near by schools. This is very very important to them because they are living remote area very far from the Colombo. This is the first computer center installed in that area.

ADIC ITN cricket match

Pitipana lions club sponsored this cricket match between ADIC & ITN (Ithin Eetapasse tele drama team). This was our Image building project for the year 2010.

Walikanda Eye Glass project

21st & 22nd November 2009 , 375 eye glass donated to welikanda area villages such as Ominiya madu, Komari, Vakaneri, & oddamavadi.

Cultural Activity Project

100 Student from various ethical groups visited the Colombo from Walikanda area.Students are enjoy lot at this occasion.

Beauty culture Workshop

We had arranged lectures & practical workshop for girls who are doing beauty centers to improve their skills.

eye screening camp

Lions club of pitipana organized eye screening camp for cataracts operations.50 people selected for operation by the first camp we did in Diyagama area on 15th November 2009. We will continue this every village of our area.

Volleyball coaching camp

Sweet memories of our volleyball coaching camp held on 17th October 2009. Project presidents are Lion Lakshman & Lion Neil.

Welikanda school development project & Eye Camp

MeMbers of pitipana lions club attend school development project of welikanka kanista vidyalaya.Here we donated school books,library books and many other more..........
231 Brigade of Sri lanak army organized the project.
The finance company plc also participated the event.
Here president of pitipana lions club promised to school that he will establish computer center to school..................

We conduct the eye camp in welikanda area and plane to donate 400 eye glasses.

"BAGESHRI" an evening of music 2009

This was our club fund rising project on 2nd August 2009. It was the power of our LIONs & LEOs team work

Vihara Matha Abhivandana 2008

To salute the parent's who lost their sons in the war we did this project. It was very sensitive moment for all of us. We organized blood donating camp also.
