"We can't help everyone everywhere, but we can help someone somewhere."

We collect used Eye Glasses for Recycling. The glasses are washed, their prescriptions are read and they are sent all over the world for those in need. We also collect used Hearing Aids which are dismantled and the parts recycled. Look for our collection boxes at Eastham Elementary School, Eastham Library, Eastham Town Hall, Eastham Swap Shop, Seamen's Bank in Eastham, Eastham United Methodist Church, Provincetown Elementary School and our Leo Club has a collection box at Nauset Regional Middle School. Look for boxes soon at Wellfleet Library and Wellfleet Council on Aging. Contact our Eye Glass Recycling Chairperson

Each fall we sponsor a Peace Poster Contest at Nauset Regional Middle School. Students create a poster and a quote that embodies the yearly theme. An art show style awards ceremony is held where all participants receive certificates and t-shirts and the winner receives a Savings Bond generously donated by Seamen's Savings Bank. The winning poster also goes on to the District Level Competition and could eventually go on to the International Level Competition.  Visit the Photo Gallery to see past year's contests. Contact our Peace Poster Chairperson.

We provide new Eye Glasses and Hearing Aids to those in need. Through partnerships with local doctors and providers we can supply someone in need with a brand new pair of glasses or a brand new hearing aid at no cost to the patient. We generally accept referrals from school counselors and school nurses, social agencies, church clergy and health care professionals, but will also consider requests from private individuals.
Contact our Community Liaison for Eye Glass/Hearing Aid Requests.

We provide free vision, hearing and glaucoma screenings through the Lions District 33-S Eye Mobile. The Eye Mobile is an RV which contains all of the testing equipment needed to provide a basic screening for hearing loss, vision impairment or glaucoma. Blood pressure checks are also available. Diabetes Screenings can sometimes be arranged. Referrals to care professionals can be provided. Each year we bring the Eye Mobile to the Eastham Windmill Weekend Craft Fair. Contact our Eye Mobile Coordinator if you would like us to consider bringing the Eye Mobile to your location or event.

We sponsor a Leo Club at Nauset Regional Middle School. A Leo Club is the youth version of Lions Clubs and is open to students at NRMS who are aged
12 or over. It is a Community Service Club that meets each week at NRMS. Visit the NRMS Leo Club webpage or Contact the NRMS Leo Club Advisors.

We collect Pennies For Sight. All pennies collected go to Massachusetts Lions Eye Research. MLER provides grants to hospitals and labs that are working on many vision related issues such as wiping out baby blindness in premature infants and optical nerve regeneration. Look for our canisters at Seamen's Banks in Eastham, Wellfleet and Truro. Contact our Canister Chairperson if you would like a canister placed at your business.

We hold fundraisers. Each year you can find us at Eastham's Windmill Weekend where we also hold raffles and you never know what we may be selling! We carry out Flamingo Flockings, hold Pancake Breakfasts and Yard Sales. 100% of the money we raise is given back to our communities in the form of charitable acts. We have donated money to a local family fire relief fund, we have paid for eye glasses and hearing aids for those in need, we have made donations to Lions Club Charities. We serve our communities. We are available to provide assistance where ever we may be needed. We have helped out at the Eastham Chamber of Commerce Holiday Festival, we provided and served a lunch during the building of Truro's Puma Park playground, we have provided gift baskets for a local church country fair and we have helped with a Girl Scout Powder Puff Derby. Contact our Club President if you have a community service project you would like us to consider.
