Christmas Baskets Program

Following are some dates to put in your calendar:

October 4, Beginning in October, bring hygiene items to every club meeting for our Christmas Baskets program.

November 2-30, We will be delivering boxes to the schools, picking up food items from the schools and getting Christmas gifts for the families we have adopted.

December 1-15, We will presort the food items, pack the food boxes, wrap gifts and deliver the Christmas Baskets and gifts.

 Laveen Heritage Car Show

One of the fundraising efforts that the Laveen Lions Club puts on each year is the Laveen Heritage Car Show.  This event allows our community to come together to see amazing cars, enjoy delicious foods, and meet neighbors.  There is plenty of fun for the entire family!

High School Scholarship Program

The Laveen Lions High School scholarship was started when the Cesar Chavez High School opened.  A second scholarship was established when Betty Fairfax School opened as well.  Applicants from each school must have at least a 2.5-GPA, 2 letters of recommendation, an essay, show financial aid is needed, intention to enroll in a college, show leadership, a list of activities, and their view about the Lions.

The winner of each school will receive their scholarship funds at the bookstore of the college they attend. 

This year's winner from Betty Fairfax High School is Jeniffer Maldonado who intends to attend Arizona State University.  Elizabeth Negrete is our second winner from Cesar Chavez High School.   She intends to attend Northern Arizona University.

Penny Drive

Through this worthy cause The Laveen Lions Club is able to raise funds to help families in need in our community.   Each year we help with boxes of food, toys and clothing to in hopes that we can bring smiles and joy during the holidays to families.   If you would like to have your school be part of this drive and have a chance at winning a pizza party for your class, please contact:

Laveen Community Parade

We are excited to begin the registration process for the Annual Laveen Community Parade

Parade route:  Dobbins Rd. from 43rd Ave to 51st Ave.  

Key details:

      Date: First Saturday in February each year

      Start Time:  11:00 am

      Registrants Sing-in on the day of the parade:  begins at 8 am

      Judging Criteria: Theme, Originality, and Appearance (judging takes 

        place from 9:45 am to 10:30 am).

Back to School Program

Each year many students go to school with out the proper school supplies because their families can't afford them.   The Laveen Lions Club helps deliver hundreds of schoold supplies each year to the schools in the Laveen School District.   Yet we still need more school supplies to help all of the students who can't afford to buy school supplies.   Help us help them.  Please donate today.   For more information on how you can donate, please contact:
