A. Herr Homestead Braille Trail
Continued support to the Landisville Lions Club, we where able to provide another community service project. This was accomplished with the cooperation of the A. Herr Homestead Foundation Board. The Lions Club was able to build a braille trail for those who have a visual disability.
This beautiful 1852 Herr Family Homestead authentically depicts like on a 19th century Lancaster County Farm. The Homestead can be found at 1756 Nissley Road, Landisville, PA 17538. You may find the Homestead on their web site.
Saucer Magnolia - Magnolia Soulangiana
This tree is registered with Famous and Historic Trees. Blooms in very early spring with huge cup shaped ppink and white blossoms before leafing out. This may freeze in this exposed setting. Bright red seeds, are enjoyed by squirrels and birds. This tree was planted in 1911 by Amos Herr himself and later donated it to the East Hempfield Township of this original William Penn Land Grant acreage. This tree is a non-native and also is deciduous.
