LaMoure Lions Scholarship Program
These are programs that are directly related to life at the local elementary and high school. Four years ago the scholarship program was formed. These awards are given to the LaMoure High School Seniors that will be extending their education at the college level. To qualify, the students must maintain good grades, write a short paper on volunteerism, and fill an application. Once the winners have been selected, these students mush show proof of transcripts, and proof of entering their 2nd semester of college. Past winners have been: 2009- Katie Hoden & Samantha Peterson. 2010-Kylee Quinlan & Becky Watkins. 2011-Megan Quinlan & Paige Swenson. 2012-Tanner Carlson, Devin Pedersen & Tyler Thielges. Congratulations to these outstanding young people.
The LHS also has a program that high school students at the junior (11th) grade are encouraged to complete 25 hours of volunteer service in the community. When the student meets this requirement they are granted various “Senior Privileges”. It is hoped that this program engages the students in the broader community. They become aware of the many groups and services that are offered in the community.
The Lions welcome LHS students to contact any Lion member and offer their service and participation in any of our many events.
