MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS PROGRAM
The Lagos Indiana Lions Club, District 404B2, held a Mental Health Awareness Program themed “Mind Matters: Breaking Barriers and Building Resilience in Mental Health” on October 12, 2025, at 5:00 PM via Zoom. The event featured Mrs. Bernice Williams, MSN, RN, CNL, MS Psych as the guest speaker.
The program aimed to promote open conversations about mental health and build resilience among individuals. The speaker gave an insightful presentation on recognizing early signs of depression, anxiety, PTSD, and alcoholism, while also discussing effective management and coping strategies.
Members were fully engaged throughout the session and asked several relevant questions which were professionally and thoroughly answered by the speaker. She provided practical guidance, shared real-life experiences, and encouraged participants to prioritize mental well-being and seek support when necessary.
The event was very interactive and impactful, increasing awareness about mental health issues and the importance of compassion, understanding, and early intervention. Members expressed appreciation for the session and pledged to continue advocating for mental health within their communities.
The Lagos Indiana Lions Club is grateful to the guest speaker and all members who participated, reaffirming its continuous commitment to serving humanity through education, awareness, and advocacy.

The Lagos Indiana Lions Club successfully held its first community blood drive yesterday( 11/28/25). Despite a last-minute location change, the event ran smoothly and demonstrated strong teamwork and dedication.
