About the La Crosse Lions Club
Chartered in 1922, the La Crosse Lions Club, along with La Crosse Lions Charities (a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization), has proudly served the La Crosse community for more than a century. Through volunteer service, financial support, and a strong commitment to good citizenship, we promote a positive community spirit, responsible government, and active engagement in the civic, cultural, social, and moral well-being of our community.
Meetings & Membership
The La Crosse Lions meet on the second Thursday of each month at 6:00 PM for general meetings, and on the fourth Thursday for board meetings. Our general meetings include social time, dinner, a guest speaker, club updates, and fellowship.
Membership dues are $35 semi-annually, with family memberships available for an additional $25 per family member. Members are also responsible for the cost of their meals.
Community Impact
The La Crosse Lions are dedicated to making a meaningful difference through a variety of service initiatives.
Vision Screening Program
This past year, Lions screened the vision of more than 3,000 children in local schools and daycare centers. Nearly 9% were referred for professional eye exams. Early identification of vision issues plays a critical role in a child’s educational success. If your school, daycare, or organization is interested in participating, please contact us as we begin a new screening cycle.
Scholarship Program
Each year, the club awards six $400 scholarships—two each to students from La Crosse’s three high schools attending Viterbo University, Western Technical College, and University of Wisconsin–La Crosse. Recipients are honored at a special recognition dinner each September.
These programs represent just a portion of the many ways the La Crosse Lions serve and strengthen the community.
