I. LACEY MIDDAY LIONS CLUB ANNUAL EVENTS CALENDAR
A. Annual ‘Night at the Theater’ (with raffles and wine): One event per year in December or January. (includes Lions Club visitations & flyers posted)
B. Grapefruit Sales: Annual event usually in January and February in cooperation with the Kiwanis.
C. Lacey Parks (Wonderwood) Spring Cleanup: Provide cookies/bottled water to workers on Earth Day in April.
D. White Canes: One weekend per year, usually in May at the Lacey Fred Meyer store.
E. Induction of New Officers: Annually in June or July.
F. Summer (Anniversary) Picnic or Potluck: In July.
G. Camp Leo for Kids with Diabetes: Participation usually in the summer months of July and August.
H. Lions Project New Hope NW: Military family retreats, participation usually in the summer months.
I. Community College Scholarship Program: One scholarship presented annually in the Winter.
J. I-5 Maytown or Scattercreek Rest Stop Coffee & Cookies Fundraiser: Two to three events per year usually during Summer Holiday weekends.
K. Amtrak Centennial Station: Water flower beds during Summer months of July and August. Also, in December, the flower beds are decorated for the Holidays.
L. Peaches, Pears & Nectarine Fundraiser: One event per year usually in August, in cooperation with the Rainier Lions Club.
M. Patriots Day/September 11th Remembrance: Join with First Responders.
N. Apple Box Fundraiser: One event per year beginning with the Apple Pack at Thurston County Fairgrounds in October and then, delivery to buyers.
O. Vision and Hearing Testing: At Thurston County elementary schools usually September - November. (This project is shared with Lacey Sunrise and Lacey Lamplighter Lions Clubs.)
P. Third Graders Dictionary Handout: At six Thurston County elementary schools usually during November and December.
Q. Lacey Fire Station Christmas Party for Homeless Children: December event providing homeless families with baskets and children’s’ gifts with gift collecting the day before.
Please Note: The Midday Lions Club actively supports the Lions Eyeglass Recycle Center (LERC) collecting eyeglasses and hearing aids and volunteering hours to the inspection, cleaning and reading the lens of eyeglasses.
