Q: Who can join Lions Clubs?
A: You must be of legal majority (over 18 years old), have good moral character and a good reputation in your community.
Q: Do I have to be a business person or similar to join?
A: No, not necessarily. This is a common misconception. You just need to be an ordinary person who wants to help others less fortunate than ourselves.
Q: How do I become a member?
A: Contact Hester on 0473 234 820 to get more information about perhaps coming along to some of our meetings and events and if you like what you see, you can be invited to join. You will be greeted upon arrival and introduced to members.
Q: Is it expensive to be a member?
A: No. There is the cost of your dinner at the meetings, and this is usually very good value. Then members pay a small annual Club due for the general running of the Club. All monies given to charitable causes is raised from public donation either through activities or direct donation.
Q: Do I have to commit a lot of my spare time?
A: Not unless you want to. We meet twice monthly, for dinner meetings, however, we do arrange several community events per year. This can only be done with the input from members, partners and friends.
Q: Are all people involved with a Lions project covered by insurance?
A: Yes!
Q: Do Lions enjoy being members?
A: Yes! We enjoy spending time with like-minded people and work well together to raise funds to support our community projects.
