Month of September
1. Rabies Eradication & Sterilization Program
Sterilization program for stray dogs is to be conducted on 27th September 2024 in Kurunegala. The cost per dog is approx. Rs. 4000
This is a joint project with Lion Club Kurunegala Legends.
Second phase will take place near Kelaniya Viharaya in November.
2. In lieu of the children cancer awareness month falling in September, gift parcels will be provided to the Children’s ward in Apeksha Hospital in Maharagama. – This project is scheduled for 28th September 2024 at 4.00pm (joint project with corporate support with LOLC Insurance Co.) 170 children in ward 04 (under 14 years)
Cost sponsored by Lion Members personally & LOLC Insurance staff.
3. “Clean-up Sri Lanka” project is scheduled for 28th September 2024 at 08.00am, led by Lion Senaka with the help of Leos. Cleaning items to be provided by the district.
Month of October
1. Donation of 24 auditorium chairs to the vocational centre in Biyagama for differently abled children on 5th October at 9.am.
2. 16th October - “Re-start Heart” medical camp at LOLC Insurance HO premises.
3. In lieu of International Elders month, club has planned to give lunch & medicines to an elder’s home in Thelagapatha in Kelaniya
4. Donation of 02 ICU trolleys to the Ragama Hospital,
5. A medical camp is to be conducted at the Vidyalankara Piriwena
6. Alms to 25 monks & 50 layman at the Boddhirukkarama Temple, Kelaniya, in lieu of Katina Pooja of the viharaya
