Lions are an international network of 1.4 million men and women in 206 countries and geographic areas who work together to answer the needs that challenge communities around the world. Known for working to end preventable blindness, Lions participate in a vast variety of projects important to their communities. These projects range from cleaning up local parks, support eye hospitals, award scholarship, provide supplies to victims of natural disasters and much more. Beginning in 1917, the association of Lions clubs has provided millions of people with the opportunity to give something back to their communities.
The International Association of Lions Clubs began as the dream of Chicago businessman Melvin Jones. He believed that local business clubs should expand their horizons from purely professional concerns to the betterment of their communities and the world at large.
Our club Lions Club of kathmandu GLIESE is register on 24-december-2008 in our District 325-‘A2’ and it’s charter approval from the LCIF on January 13th, 2009 with 22 enthusiastic youths.
We have made a plan to do something for helpless and needy people in our society so we form as a part of LCIF. Our all the member are energetic and laborious for doing social work. We assure all the people in our community we will be with you all while you face the natural, social, and other kind of difficulties under the rules and regulation of LCIF . We have done different kind of social activity since now Like as Eye cataract surgery, plantation, various type of social awareness program, scholarship program for poor student, food for street children, blood donation program etc.
Now, we have various long term and short term project for develop our society. We hope you all have desire to be a part of this project for propose of help.
