SPONSORING CRICKET TOURNAMENT TO LEOS IN
DISTRICT 306C2
“CENTENNIAL CRICKET LEAGUE 2016”
Objective
The Objective was to build a strong bond between the Leo followers and Lion leaders namely “Centennial Cricket League 2016” for the Leos in District 306 C2. A concept of Lion Fareena Bary of Lions Club of Jawatte Summit.
Cricket has an unbreakable bond with the Sri Lankan Countrymen As Lions of Sri Lanka we also shared that same bond. Keeping this in mind we Lions Club of Jawatte Summit Sponsored the Cricket for the youth Leos of District 306 C2 to commerate the Lions Centennial year that falls this year. Lions Club of Maharagama Golden City Sponsored the Cricket Equipments for the value of Rs 49,300/=
Leo Club of Maharagama Golden City organized the project and Leo Mohamed Fahim. shared as the project Chairman.
Activities
Centennial Cricket League inauguration Ceremony for CCL 16 was held on Sunday 2nd of October 2016 From 3.00pm onwards at Royal College Skill Centre, Colombo with the distinguished presence of the Centennial 2nd Vice District Governor of District 306C2 Lion Nimal Ranawaka MJF as the Chief Guest with his Lion Lady; Centennial Leo District President 306C2 Leo Champaka Dammage as Guest of Honor; Centennial District Vice President Leo Mathisha Wanigasinghe as Special Guest. Advisory Panel Lion Fareena Bary, Lion Aroosi Thassim Lion M Marsook and Lion Omar Mohamed.
On this day The Rules and Regulations for the event was delivered by the organizing committee member and relevant documents were handed over to the team leaders. Fifty was in attendance. Refreshments too were served.
Sunday, the 16th of October 2016 witnessed the occurring of the Centennial Cricket League from 8.00 AM to 7.00PM at the Moors Sports Grounds, Colombo. Nine clubs from 306C2 participated in this historical tournament eleven team played. Ground was divided into 2 Pitches. Pitch A and Pitch B. five Umpires and three score markers were in attendance

We had a Leo Lion friendly match. Lions won the match.
This event was adorned by the distinguished presence of the Centennial District Governor Lion Dr. Premasiri Hewawasam PMJF/ MAF as the Chief Guest, Centennial Multiple Council Chairperson Lion Duminda Munasinghe PMJF/ JP; and his Lion Lady; Centennial District President, Leo Champaka Dammage as the Guest of Honor; Centennial 1st Vice District Governor Lion Asela Karunawardena MJF and Centennial District Vice President, Leo Mathisha Wanigasinghe as Special Guests.
The Organizing Committee including Project Chairman Leo Mohamed Fahim, Secretary Leo Rushdy Hassen, Treasurer Leo Shuhaib Asham, Members Leo Sampath Chandana, Leo Dilini Jayasinghe, and Leo Chanuka De Alwis and totaling to hundred Leos were present.
Members of the CCL16 Advisory Panel Lion Fareena Bary, Lion Aroosi Thassim, Lion Udaya Dewage MJF, Lion Omar Mohamed and few Lion members were present.
Breakfast / Lunch / evening Tea in addition T shirts & Caps to the players, committee and to the umpires were sponsored.
Advent Global Group & Motive were the Official Strategic Partner while Vevra Sri Lanka was the Official Photography and Videographey partner for the whole event.
Leo Club of Homagama Central was crowned as the Champions.
Leo Club of Bachelor of Social Work became the Runners up.
Leo ASM Asmi from Leo Club of Bachelor of social work became the best Batsman.
Leo Udara who was awarded as the best Bowler of the Tournament.
Leo Club of Bachelor of Social Work Highest participation.
Leo Club of Kottawa Central was the most cheerful Leo Club.

We were able to achieve our goal as Lions of making the bond stronger with the Leos. This was the first time such an event has been organized by our District.
Expense
The total cost of the event was LKR 416,600/
Lions Club of Maharagama Golden City sponsored the Cricket items to the value of LKR 49,300/. The balance was covered by Lions Club of Jawatte Summit by way of sponsorships.
A statement of Income and expenditure is attached herewith together with all the supporting documents
