Sock Collection

We are collecting new pairs of socks for the months of October and November. We are looking to collect a minimum of 200 pairs. The socks can be donated at the following sites: the Irondequoit Public Library, the Irondequoit Town Hall and the Irondequoit Recreation Center.

Collection of Used Eye Glasses

We have been participating in this project for over 40 years. The glasses that are collected are given to a representative of InterVol, a nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting the world’s neediest to materials, people, and opportunities. We also collect hearing aids; basically the ones worn behind the ears.

At the present time we have four drop box locations:

  • Irondequoit Town Hall
  • Irondequoit Town Library
  • Cornerstone Eye Associateson Titus Avenue
  • Rochester Ophthalmological Group on Clinton Avenue South
  • Vision Works, Hudson-Titus Plaza
  • Irondequoit Recreation Center at the Irondequoit Mall

Lions Vision Screening Program

Once again our club will be offering free eye examinations to pre-school children in town nursery schools and day care centers.

Irondequoit Spooktacular

We will be participating in this annual event which is held at the Irondequoit Recreation Center this year on October 27th from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.

Lions Little Free Library

Our library is now stocked for Halloween with lots of
great seasonal books added.

These are just a few examples of the many on-going projects performed by the Irondequoit Lions Club.
