Ongoing Projects
1. Soles4Souls is a non-profit organization where new and used shoes are collected then sent to designated sits globally to aid in the fight against extreme poverty. Suzanne Matheny manages the ongoing donations and collections for our club.
2. We donate items such as towels, blankets, old sheets, and other dog and cat accesories to the local animal shelters. Sherri and Steven Hensley are in charge of this program..
3. Randon Acts of Flowers is a non-profit organization that collects old but still good flowers then uses donated vases to make floral arrangements for those in need of cheering up. Mae Maughan is responsible for taking the vases our club has collected and sends them to the national office located in Knoxville,. TN.
4. We process applicants for eye exams and/or eyeglasses for those adults who meet Lions Club guidelines.
5. We collect used eyeglasses for distribution to "Third World" countries and remote area medical clinics (RAM) in the USA.
Seasonal Projects
1. At Thanksgiving our club participated with the Inskip Community Association, Inskip Baptist Church, and Berea Baptist Church in the annual Turkey Buckets project. Underpriviledged families identified by teachers at Inskip Elementary School are given large buckets containing everything needed for a fine Thanksgiving feast. This year 106 families were recipients of these buckets.
2. The Inskip Lions club plans a Spring Project each year focusing on one or more of the main focus areas, More information for this years project will be announced in the near future.
Inskip Lions Club gives monetary support for approved Lions Club programs which support blind, Deaf, amd lead dog programs.
