Indian Land Lions Assist First Steps with Vision Screening
Two of forty-nine toddlers enrolled in Lancaster County First Steps’ Early Head Start program have been referred to eye health profession following vision screenings provided by the Indian Land Lions Club. Special cameras utilized checked for refraction, corneal irregularities, symmetric eye alignment and pupil size. Lancaster County First Steps exists to ensure all children are prepared for success in school. It engages families, caregivers, and community partners such as Lions Clubs to improve child development from pre-birth to age five.
