Mary came up with the idea to of recycling plastic to raise money for wheelchairs, found a plastic moulding company in South Africa prepared to take bread tags. A Carmel Indiana 18 yr old high school student Danielle Rothchild started collecting bread tags to make a dress. She had so many left over she didn't know what to do with them. When Danielle heard about Bread Tags for Wheelchair she started collecting them for she was the only one in the United States doing this. Plastic Caps & Lids for Benches: The ICLC members have recently started collecting plastic caps & lids to help build Buddy Benches. In 2007 Sammie Vance from Fort Wayne, Indiana started collecting lids after she learned about Buddy Benches while attending VBS. She started collecting lids as a school project. She realized there were so many who are lonely, including herself at the time. With the help from mom and the Green Tree Plastics in Evansville, Indiana the first Buddy Bench also known as the Frienship Bench was invented. These benches are provided on school playgrounds as a way for students to signal to others they are feeling lonely, isolated, would like someone to talk to. Please help the ICLC members collect plastic caps & lids to create a Buddy Bench, to allow us to help someone find a friend to talk to.

Lunch Counter: Idea Exchange
In times of social distancing and statewide shut down, the Indiana Cyber Lions Club has tried something different. The club hosts a multi-club zoom meeting called the Lunch Counter Idea Exchange. These Monday meetings are moderated by PDG Charles Short of Lafayette Lions Club. By advertising through social media, these meeting are open to all Lions, have been visited by a few international Lions. Primarily it is a platform to talk about what different clubs are doing for their communities, with a focus on staying healthy. The lunch discussions have addressed the strengths and weaknesses of different internet communication devices, along with a few pointers as to how to use various platforms to conduct meetings for Lions Clubs. The conversation is inspiring, and the multiple perspectives of its attendees helps to refine ideas that can then be transferred to other communities.
