Hyndburn Helpers Food Hub
We have been supporting Hyndburn Helpers Food Hub since February 2024 on a one year term, supplying them with much needed canned vegetables, canned meat products, milk, tea, coffee and sugar, plus biscuits, canned fruit and custard.
At our recent Charter Anniersary Lunch in mid February 2025 it was announced by our President Lion Joan Clarkson that the club had decided to continue supporting the Hyndburn Helpers Food Hub for a further term of tweleve months

LIONS RECYCLE FOR SIGHT
Lions Recycling for Sight and Hearing - Lions International
Another ongoing project is the 'Lions Recycle For Sight'. This is where we collect used glasses which people have donated to us by putting them in collection bins we have in around 14 different collection points. We then sort and count them and if usable pack them into boxes. These are then transported to our headquarters in Birmingham who sort them and then send them directly to know contacts undertaking eye clinics in Papua New Guinea, Sri Lanka, Ghana, Nigeria, and Nepal. They also send them accross to Lions Medico France who grade them and send to outher eye clinics around the world.
Hyndburn Centennial Lions Club does get donated glasses cases which if you check out our fundraising page will explain more about what happens to some of them and how it helps the project listed below.
