In July 2015, Houston Lady Lions determined the following FOCUS projects for the 2015-16 Lions year, in additon to others regularly supported throughout the District and International Lion's Clubs:
1. Sheltering Harbour Residential Treatment Center for tweens and teens (October Christmas party).
2. The Rose (cancer research and treatment)
3. American Federation of the Blind of Texas (scholarships for blind students)
4. Camp Hope (assists military veterans suffering from PTSD and their families)
In December 2014, Houston Lady Lions collected 260 pounds of non-perishable food items and donated them to the Houston Food Bank as part of its holiday benefit.
The three projects adopted by Houston Lady Lions for 2014-15 were:
-- Military families (Daddy's Deployed)
-- Cancer survivors (The Pink Ribbon Project)
-- Visually challenged or blind (The National Federation of the Blind of Texas)
Members are planning strategic initiatives that connect resources in the community to those who are in need.
