Lions of 12-O,

2019 was our best KidSight screening year in five years.  We could not have done it without hard work from the Lions of Tennessee who are dedicated to our KidSight Outreach vision screening program and all the benefits it can bring to the children in our communities.

If your club participated in the KidSight Outreach vision screening program in 2019, take pride in your good work.  Whether your club screened 10 children or 1,000 children you should know you made a difference in someone’s life.  Over 2,000 children were referred for further examination and treatment in 2019.

How does the Lions Club help?  Ask Mrs Joyce Hixson how it helped her family.

Many years ago, in the '50's and 60's, the Lions Club provided my husband and his brothers and sisters with eye exams and glasses. They all had horrible vision. Had it not been for the Lions, none of them would have been able to attend school. It was through the Lions Club that the children were able to drive and work when they became adults. We always try to buy pecans and help in other ways when we see the Lions Club members out and about.

Thank you so much.
Joyce D. Hixson

Lions assisting RAM Zone 7 & 8 Service Project

Thank you for making this service project a success.  We prepared 1250 box lunches as well as breakfast for all of the patients that attended the clinic (about 2200 meals).  Because of the amount of food we were able to purchase (due to the money that Lions Clubs, Food City, Publix, and individuals provided), we were also able to feed family members who came to be with patients, send box lunches to the homeless shelter, send food with families who had needs at home,  and provide a significant amount of food to the Union Gospel Mission.

We had 41 Lions from 5 clubs who participated in this event.  The total service hours provided for the clinic exceeded 100 with the planning, preparation, and distribution.
